Vancouver, CA
Being so close to Canada, we decided to take a detour from Seattle, Washington over to Vancouver, Canada reachable by car via a couple of hours. We ate at the local Chinatown where we had dim sum. Coming from a place where authentic Asian food is available all the time (grew up near Rowland Heights, CA), the food was on par, if not, better than what I've experienced in my lifetime.
We checked out Grandville Market, which had some local goods as well as some popular eateries. The area is pretty iconic as you enter the market via the local streets.
The market itself is located under a bridge overpass, where traffic leads to downtown Vancouver. We saw many locals hanging out in the area, with plenty of things to do as a tourist. The public market area looks very much the Anaheim Packing District or Grand Central Market in Downtown LA.
When we left the area, we drove around the Vancouver area, got a quick bite to eat for dinner in one of the local neighborhoods, and then drove back to Seattle towards the end of the day. I'm definitely going to come back with some of my friends so we can explore the beer, arts, and culture scenes in the area.
