Get Fit: Week 16
Hello internet and future self.
Another busy week has past me by. I went to go see Waitress the Musical this past Saturday with my friends. I didn't have any breakfast since I slept in that day (it was much needed sleep). I ended up going for a run at my place in Diamond Bar for at least half an hour and then doing some plyometric workouts in the backyard. I then met up with Kenny early to go hangout and catch up on life. I haven't seen Kenny since Coachella and he noticed my physical appearance changes. It was nice to talk about fitness and life goals over Asian mixed drinks. We then met up with the rest of the group for dinner where the compliments of changes kept coming. I felt extremely proud of myself and the accomplishments I've completed so far. The validation is great and is good motivation to keep moving forward in my fitness journey.
On Sunday, I overslept again and missed breakfast. I ended up waking up my brother to try a new Yelp Top 100 place in San Dimas area that makes great sandwiches. The place was a whole in the wall but served fantastic food. We noticed that we were near Klatch Coffee and decided to get some snacks from there. Once my brother was all settled, I went back to Glendale to workout at my home AF gym and finished the day with my go to almond drink from Pressed Juicery.
On Monday, I decided to catch up with my friend Jeremy to get lunch at Urth Caffe. We stuck to the healthy foods such as iced tea, grilled chicken sandwich, and soup. I had a full workout after work and then went to a placed called Gam Tu Bop, which served delicious rice balls. I also ended up going to Best Buy to purchase a new set of clothes washer and dryer.
For Tuesday, I went to go eat at a placed called Kazunori which makes the original Japanese hand rolls with three of my other friends/colleagues from work. The food was good, delicious, and healthy which made it hard to pass up for lunch. We went to a nearby coffee shop called Tilt Coffee where I bought there special Cloud Mocha and Chai Cookies (slowly ate these later throughout the week). I then proceeded with a full workout at the gym and my typical dinner.
On Wednesday, I went to a poke bowl placed with my friend Trixie at the Japanese Plaza mall. The food was okay compared to other places I have been to. After eating, I went to Beard Papa's and bought a dozen cream puffs for the group. I'll admit, I had one for dessert which I paid for later in my workout. After working out later, I had my typical dinner and went to sleep early.
Thursday was an interesting lunch day. We were celebrating our new boss' onboarding by going to a Lebanese restaurant called 10e. Most of their food was healthy with generous servings of beef, lamb, and chicken kebabs as well as jasmine rice, grilled peppers, fresh pita bread, baklava, and coffee from the restaurant. I decided to walk back to the office to try to burn some of the food I ate. I did have a full workout as well as my traditional dinner to finish off the day.
Friday, I decided to hang out with my friend Alex from work. We went to Galco's to buy a whole bunch of drinks. I just finished working out prior to heading over to Galco's and I was starving. I ended up getting an Italian sub from their store as well as a diet root beer to compliment the food. I then went back to Gam Tu Bop to get two rice balls (probably not the best decision) as well as a nearby coffee shop to consume a cortado hot drink (half espressso/half milk).
I'm amazed at how much progress I've accomplished. I finally got my Fitbit lose 40 pounds badge and posted it on the social platform. I've also noticed that some of the new belts I've received no longer have notches for me to use, which means I probably lost additional pant sizes. I plan to go out this weekend to purchase clothing and see where I am currently at. I can't wait to see how much additional progress I make. I do feel different going into the gym now. It seems just a little bit harder to get the same workout processed at the gym. I've also noticed that Lara has been talking to me more. I'm still wondering if she has a boyfriend or is single. Guess the only way to find out is to ask in a clever way.
As always, I'll continue to persist and be consistent with my workout. Trust the process and enjoy the journey along the way. You'll be amazed at how much you've accomplished as you reach your ultimate end goal.
