Get Fit: Day 5

Hello internet and future self. Last night, I went to the Mike Shinoda concert and then performed late-night overtime at my workplace. I ended up going home (Diamond Bar) for Mother's Day to celebrate and spend time with my family. I picked up my brother at the Ontario Airport (of which he celebrated a birthday up in San Francisco). For lunch, we ended up going to a Hawaiian BBQ place called Maui's Hawaiian BBQ in Brea. I tried to focus mostly on chicken meat, but ended up eating a couple pieces of chicken katsu and beef. I had a choice between white rice and macaroni salad (I went for the ladder) and did eat a lot of the meat with BBQ sauce. We went to 85 Degree Bakery after for some sea salt coffee, of which I tried my very best NOT to finish a large drink. For desert, I ended up eating one pastry, a cream cheese custard that was very tasty. I knew that what I was eating was not completely healthy. I told myself that this would be the ONE cheat meal of the week, something that I needed to get used to. Furthermore, I ended up skipping out on dinner since I knew how many calories I took in for lunch. When we got home, I ended up spending some quality time with my brothers. Ryan was going through a little dilemma about what he wanted to do for a living and what to study for college. Russell and I had a nice candid conversation regarding fitness. We talked about my current regiment, how I felt about the process, this journal (that I am currently writing on), and how I plan to stay motivated. It was pretty nice conversation and one that I plan to try to remember in order to stay motivated. After a quick wash of the car, I ended up going out for a 30+ minute walk/run through the neighborhood. Since I'm new to the Anytime Fitness gym, I couldn't drive out to the nearest location (in Chino Hills) to take advantage of the gym. I didn't want to end the day without doing some form of exercise, plus I wanted to get my step count for the day (10,500 steps). I felt pretty good about it. I'm just hoping my knees and shins will forgive me for putting on the extra weight when jogging around the neighborhood. Tomorrow is a new day and the start of my fat loss routine for the gym. I picked a set of workouts that would help me further shed fat and weight. Honestly, I'm a little intimidated and kinda not looking forward to it. I just have to keep telling myself to trust the process, stay focused, and think about the type of body that I want to have when I hit my goal. Don't forget why I'm doing this: you want to feel good about yourself and be a little vain about it. Stay focused and trust the process. Watch what you eat and workout as much as you can.
